This is for an author. I am in the middle of designing his book, that was given to me a client, a publishing company. The author needed a few charts designed for his book interior. He did not want plain grid charts, so I designed his charts for the book. You can see them here. When he saw the finished design for his charts, he asked if I do logos. Of course I do, so we discussed what he was looking for in a logo. First, here is what he originally had…

It is clean. It also has the icons of the three main points of his presentation. The real issue is that the logo did not portray the real essence of what he does.
So we went through a redesign process. With me already in the middle of working on his book, I had a better idea about his business. Plus discussing with him, he filled in the gaps of information I was missing. When we finished, not only does he have a logo that better communicates his business, but he now has a logo set to use for branding anything related to his business and therefore further his brand to his clients and prospects.
